My students love doing meditation in class. They are really starting to understand that their breath is powerful and can help them feel better. My favorite thing as a teacher is when I see my students use strategies we have practiced in class... such as placing their hands on their abdomen and breathing deeply before a concert or test. I hope other teachers try out these exercises in their classes. It makes a big difference in helping the kids feel calm, learn more and be better friends.
