Why Take This Course
One of the healthiest choices you can make is to clean up the food you eat. I'm not talking about which diet is necessarily best for you. This course is not about deciding between Paleo or vegan or other dietary plan. I'm simply talking about the quality of the ingredients you are eating.
Knowledge is power.
Wouldn't you like to know if certain types of ingredients can make you more likely to have autoimmune illness, allergies, bloating, fertility issues, or put you in a "blah" mood?
I remember when I was pregnant with my first baby, all of sudden I felt nervous about what I was eating. Was it OK? Was it safe? Could I eat fish for omega-3s? What about the mercury? Once my decisions involved more than myself, I felt more responsible for the impact of my choices.
Then when my baby became a toddler, I saw how sometimes her behavior would completely change depending on the quality of the food she was eating. It was like there was a motor running on full speed but she wasn't happy and she didn't feel good. I was already a pediatrician but needed more information. Fortunately, I was in the middle of my integrative medicine fellowship with Dr. Andrew Weil's program, so I had experienced teachers to help me through my confusion. I've spent many hours researching this subject for both personal and professional reasons.
I want to remove the veil that companies may use to distract you from the adverse effects of certain ingredients used. This doesn't have to scare you, but to inform you, so that you can make the best choices for yourself and loved ones. Without this kind of information, we are choosing to go with the default, which often includes an onslaught of unnecessary chemicals.
Food is medicine — or, at least it can be.
This course provides you with foundational knowledge for health.
Here's how to eat food, not chemicals.
